Wellbeing Support

Wellbeing Support at Cromwell College

Prioritising the mental health and wellbeing of our students is crucial at Cromwell College. Our comprehensive support system is led by Ms Tanya Robinson, Deputy of Student Life, who oversees our wellbeing initiatives and ensures students have access to the care they need.

Deputy of Student Life

Ms Tanya Robinson, as Deputy of Student Life, plays a crucial role in fostering a supportive and nurturing environment at Cromwell College. She works tirelessly to create programs and services that enhance student wellbeing and promote a positive college experience.

Residential Assistant Support and Training

At Cromwell College, our Residential Assistants (RAs) are at the heart of creating a supportive and inclusive community. Carefully selected and extensively trained, RAs are equipped to provide guidance, mentorship, and pastoral care to the students in their corridors. This strong support network ensures that every resident has someone they can turn to for advice, whether it’s about settling into college life, managing academic challenges, or simply navigating the ups and downs of university.

Key Benefits for Students:

  • Enhanced Support: With RAs trained in conflict resolution and mental health first aid, students have access to informed support when navigating challenges, ensuring they feel heard and understood.

  • Community Building: RAs are skilled in fostering a sense of community within their corridors, organising events and activities that encourage social interaction and connection among residents.
  • Crisis Management: In times of need, RAs are prepared to respond effectively to emergencies or critical situations, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all residents.

  • Peer Mentorship: The relationship between RAs and residents promotes a culture of peer support, where students can learn from one another and share experiences in a nurturing environment.

In-House Counselling

We're proud to offer three free counselling sessions with our in-house counsellor, Vicky Dawes. Students can access personal counselling for a range of concerns, including:

  • Emotional wellbeing

  • Relationship issues

  • Stress management

This service provides a safe space for students to discuss their challenges and develop strategies for maintaining good mental health throughout their academic journey.

At Cromwell College, we believe that supporting our students' wellbeing is essential for their academic success and personal growth. Our dedicated team is here to ensure that every student feels supported and valued throughout their time with us.
